Common Name: Indiana Bat
Scientific Name: Myotis sodalis

Weight: 5-11g (0.2-0.4 oz)
Wing Span: 9.5"-10.5"
Food: Insectivore: moths, beetles, flies, caddisflies, and ichneumon wasps.
Habitat: They are found in the United States in the forest and mountains east of the Rockies. In the summer they can be found roosting under bridges, buildings and under the bark of trees. Winter hibernacula spots are usually limited to caves though it is not uncommon to find one under the bark of a tree.
Mating: Breeding pair mates in the fall using delayed fertilization where the female gives birth the following year.
Young: One pup is born around late June to early July.
Life span: About 15 years.
Facts: They are a social bat which has given them the name, “social myotis.”
